This semester I applied to be a collegiate correspondent at USA Today. I didn't think my application would go anywhere, but I was selected to compete in the second round, which was a time sensitive news story that showcased our ability to make stories relevant to college students, as well as our style. I tried to establish myself as a political op-ed writer. Maybe it was too controversial. Maybe they thought I was a one-note song. Whatever their reasoning, I wasn't selected to be a correspondent this semester.
I may apply again, but until that time, there's still a TON going on in politics, meaning there's still a TON I have to say about politics. This, along with my memories of Meghan McCain's political blog--McCain Bloggette--is what has inspired me to start this blog today.
I invite you to follow me on this journey as I try to provide relevant, newsworthy information about the political field, while still offering my own criticism and praise. Your comments are WELCOME and much appreciated. I only ask that you be respectful, and mean what you say. No sugarcoating allowed.
Let's get rid of the giant elephant in the room,
Kirsten
